The Key Ideas

#92 Put in place a national strategy for improving participation in the arts

Participation in the arts is also a big part of learning. Whether it is learning to play guitar, singing in a choir, painting, or writing, formal and informal learning opportunities can help people be active. We can create lots of open access and shared facilities. Every town could have free rehearsal space for what people need to rehearse as a band or perhaps to write and record their own music. Empty shops could be converted into art studios or editing suites where people could borrow cameras and then film and edit their own films.
